Located along the ever-popular Forest Acres shopping and dining corridor, the Cardinal Crossing development brings a unique mix of retail shops, high-end residential apartments, restaurants, and office space to Forest Drive; a thriving yet crowded main thoroughfare from I-77 and Forest Jackson into downtown Columbia. The ever-present day-to-day traffic congestion along Forest Drive, coupled with its proximity to residential neighborhoods, presented many challenges to the success of the development.

Cox and Dinkins, along with a team of other industry professionals, assisted the client throughout the redevelopment process of the former Cardinal Newman Campus. Those efforts and included: client representation at community and public outreach sessions; working with governmental officials to ease traffic concerns by utilizing the adjacent traffic light onto Forest Drive for access; and adjusting the timing of traffic signals along Forest Drive to improve the level of service for vehicular traffic.
