University of South Carolina’s Campus Village is a three-stage project to redevelop approximately 22 acres into a new housing community with dining, recreation, parking, academic, and student support spaces. The addition of approximately 3,700 beds over three stages is included in the redevelopment of Bates House, Bates West, Cliff Apartments, and Carolina Gardens. Cox and Dinkins is providing civil engineering services for the design team.
Stage 1 encompasses approximately 9 acres and includes the demolition of Cliff Apartments and the parking lot associated with Bates House and Bates West, and the construction of an additional 1,800 beds in 4 residential dormitories, a Starbucks, a new dining facility, and a parking garage along with enhancing the pedestrian experience from the Athletics Village south of the project to the campus core.
Stage 2 includes demolishing Bates House and Bates West and the construction of 1,400 beds in 2 residential dormitories.
Stage 3 includes the demolition of Carolina Gardens and the construction of 450 beds in 2 apartment-style dormitories.
